Hey all,
For the past 6 months a small group of English Teachers have been working on a short film entitled "The Glass Box".
The Glass Box is a short fictional film based on the lives of two young women in Taiwan. Claudia is a twenty-three year old North American who has reluctantly come to Asia with her boyfriend to teach English at a cram school. Yin-May, also twenty-three, was born and raised in Taiwan by her father in a fishing community on the island of Chijin. It is a genuine and unique story comparing and contrasting two people from different cultures in a unusual set of circumstances.

The website and trailer looks great. The quality is really professional.
When will the movie premiere? Has it been entered in the Taipei Film Festival? |

Thanks for all the positive feedback.
We won't be entering the Taipei Film Festival this year, as production wasn't wrapped in time for the application deadline.
However, we have applied to the Toronto Film Festival, and the Los Angeles Short Film Fest. We are also considering Vancouver, New York, and a few others, but the applications take a lot of time to complete, and we are still furiously working in post-production.
As for the Premiere Screening, we are tentatively looking a either the weekend of May 24-25 or May 30-June 1. We are hoping to be able to screen the movie at one of the local theaters here in Kaohsiung.
Again, thanks for the replies, its great to hear that there will be an interest in the movie.
Cheers! |

OFFICIAL RELEASE:
As you may or may not know a group of us had the opportunity to shoot
a short film here in Kaohsiung over the past 6 months.
A few weeks ago at The Bayou's Gallery we showed the trailer, launched our website and showed some pics taken during the production. If you
haven't seen the trailer you can check it out at:
www.theglassboxmovie.com
We are super happy with the film and going to be able to show it to
everyone at Vieshow Cinemas in the Mega FE'21 Department store.
We will be holding two screenings only, on Saturday May 31st at
10:00pm and 10:45pm.
All ticket sales will go to our applications for film festivals and covering the rental of the cinema.
The Vieshow people have asked that we try to sell the majority of the tickets presale. There will be a limited number of tickets sold at the door.
Tickets are 200NT each and seats are assigned as you all know when
you go to the movies here.
So please come out and see what we feel is an interesting film from a
foreign perspective in Taiwan.
You can contact Matt Finlin, Walter McGee, Brad MacDuff, or
Alexander Williams for tickets. Thanks a ton. Hope to see you all
there.

Hi BigWally,
I saw a 519 area code on the website
Any chance it'll be shown somewhere in Kitchener/Waterloo/Guelph/London?
What to do If I'm stuck in Canada at the moment |

There is a good chance that we will be in the Toronto Film Festival, so if we get in I'll be sure to post on here, and let everyone know if they are interested.
FYI: Tickets are available for the 10:45pm show (10pm sold out!) at the Lighthouse Bar & Grill, and at The Black Dog Pub. |
