Hello......
Does anyone know if I will be able to buy a printer at Bic or Yodibashi here in Tokyo and install it and have it work with my Mac from the US???
I saw a Cannon at Yodibashi, but the guy said ir might not work with my computer.
Any info on where to buy an English printer...or whatever you would call it??
Or might I be able to set it up myself....a Japanese printer that is.......with my common sense and a bit of messing around with everything??
Any info at all is appreciated.....I don't read Japanese!!!
Thanks! |

I don't know about a Mac but I bought a Canon from Bic Camera and had no problems connecting it to my laptop. |

I had no problems hooking up my Epson. I had a friend give me a hand at the time but even when I had to reinstall it I managed with rudimentary Japanese.
I've also just plugged other peoples printers and printed straight away.
Most of the major makers also have English help online. |

I use a mac bought in the UK. It has no problems with a 3 or 4 year old HP All In One made for the Japanese market.
I'm sure anything you buy new in Japan will be fine. The last two mac os's (X.4 and X.5) are regularly updated (via software update) with the latest drivers so you usually don't even have to install software.
Canon seems most people's choice. |

It's a Mac: it will work. EOS.
Anyone suggesting it wouldn't is someone you don't want you giving advice about anything. Buy it. Enjoy it. |

Thanks everyone......I'll get a Cannon as that's what everyone seems to recommend and the pixus ip2600 is only about 6,000 at Bic!!
Hopefully it won't be too stressful to set up. |
