Hello,

I'll be moving to Kuwait in August. I was hoping that someone could give me current information on the cost of housing and leasing a car. I know similar questions were asked before on this forum, but I am hoping to get some up-to-date information (2008).

I need information on how much it would cost to rent an apartment (1 bedroom) around Fintas(?) area--actually anywhere between Fintas and 6th Ring Road. I don't need anything fancy but want something decent.

Also, how does one go about leasing a car and what would be an approximate cost for a small car? I'm also thinking about buying a used car. Any information on that would be appreciated as well.

Thanks in advance.

220-280 kd for something decent (in housing)
people do go lower but it tends to look 'expat slummy' when you go too low IMHO
car rental google al sayer rental - they used to have teacher specials 100kd a month and up
prices are rising very day
you won't be able to rent housing or a car (long term) without residency which can take 90 days to get
also civil id and a kuwaiti drivers license ..... ramadan is september.... you may not get these papers until november........ welcome to kuwait
