Maybe it's my eyes after grading a load of tests, but I can't help thinking that Canbe's post was written by an Indonesian. Not just the language structure but the flow of ideas. Strange, eh.

[Hi there, Siska!]

Well, that's just childish. I don't think Siska even knows about this forum. I just know that I am not the one willing to stay longer in the school. And I am not the only one who enjoys it here. We have at least two more teachers who are going to sign a second year contract because they are comfortable in this school. [/quote]

I have never worked for the Swara group but have heard more horror stories from this place than any other. And having worked for EF I know it is pretty much a **** place to work. But some do stay for one, two or even three years because of numerous reasons. The main one I believe is the lack of responsibility and the later working hours leaving most, particularly the singles, to enjoy a social life in the evening. I also know a DoS who has been with one school for many years and although he is quite talented maybe he feels better being a big fish in a small pond. It amuses me no end that any other school pays their teachers more than EF pays their DoS's. For the responsibility they have this sad.

According to the Swara website there are 57 native teachers and 33 non-native speakers. Your numbers don't sound too impressive against that backdrop.

Any ESL teacher who's been around for a while knows that EF centres aren't generally good, that EF Swara have a rotten reputation, and that EF Headquarters just don't give a toss - it's just a franchise, after all.

But even McDonalds etc get touchy about how their logos and name are used by their franchisees, so I'm waiting to see how long it takes for HQ to notice the moronic blue signs which claim ...

I beliEF
