Bang on article. Giving directions in the city can be quite the process, where naming a colonia - of which there are 1600 - is a must. On the name Juarez alone, you have streets, several variations of the name in colonias, an airport, and a degaccion.

Apparently, Hidalgo, and variations thereof. is the most common. Jurez didn't merit a state named after him!

I just closed on an apt in Col Doctores. Now for those of you who are rolling your eyes, be aware that it is very centrally located, and they are rebuilding on just about every block in this colonia. Not only did I love the apt I found (lucky enough to find a place with a balcony!!!) but Im betting this neighborhood is moving up. This is as city neighborhoods tend to do when the city really cant grow outwards more and DF is getting limited by mountains and regulations forcing developers back into the city itself.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Sorry I'm a little slow, I hadn't read this thread since I know nothing about apartments in D.F. |

I've just remembered that another good neighborhood, centrally located, often overlooked and not too expensive is San Pedro de los Pinos.

No, in terms of price to buy, about equal to Escandn, and parts of Roma. I assume the rental prices would reflect that. And San Pedro is very variable in desirability, but even the worst parts are OK. I'd stay away from the Tacubaya end though (and the prices reflect that)
