I am interested in buying an internet domain name here in Taiwan, and I don't want .tw, but .com or .net. Does anyone know if this is possible, or does anyone have any experience doing it?

thanks! |

.com or .net are American prefixes, and I think you'd have to buy those domains from America.

I think you can only buy .com.tw from Taiwan |

				| For .com or .net addresses just go to GoDaddy.com and buy the domain of your choice there. It is pretty simple to do. |

				| Go to 1and1.com, it's the cheapest out there, they actually lose money on every domain name they sell and hope to make it up on hosting. There's no advantage to paying more so you might as well pay the least possible. I don't think it matters that you're not in the US, they don't check the IP address you're registering from. You can use any address in the US or even make one up, the registers and ICANN don't check because there are too many millions of addresses to possibly verify. |

I'll also suggest 1and1. I have domains and a site with them. Support has been very good.

You'll need a credit card to sign up on line. |
