It doesn't matter to me whether these guys are the ROP or the PRO or the POR, they are the ones who will escort Suzuki at the airport to cancel the work visa and take his/her labour card.
The original poster wanted to know what steps would be taken to leave and re-enter the country, and I think we've covered it.
P.S. to VS - so I get a little dyslexic now and then |

Dyslexic... heh!! Actually I thought it might have just been a transposition. But the idea of the ROP getting involved with English teachers getting in and out of the country... in person... borders on being a bit scary.

i know two cases where ROP escorted to the airport to their home countries. In both cases, teachers were caught drunk and one of them had an accident on his (her) way home. They were escorted to the airport and rop paid the return tickets. Apart from that, I personally did not witness it. |

That's what I mean by when the ROP is involved, you don't want to be.

Actually I'd heard that the law had not been passed and that the letter of no objection is still required. When I recently left an employer my new employer requested the NOC as did immigration and ministry of manpower. When I changed my sponsor to my husband they again requested the NOC. Soooo maybe you need it, maybe you dont but it seems like no one has told the ministry officials about this law yet. |

Ah... the joys of Middle Eastern bureaucracy... and people keep telling me that things have changed since I was working there.
The more things change, the more they remain the same...
