Hello to Turkey,
Anybody ever teach at METU? If so, what was your experience and what did you teach? Any info on this place about the admin and expectations as well as salary etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

I haven't worked at METU although I did take the test and apply. I got as far as the sample lesson.
I knew a woman who worked there, and maybe still does. Now she's created a position for herself to help disabled students. Here's her webpage belohttps://kolmogorov.iam.metu.edu.tr/claire/index.php/Main_Page
Most people I'd talked to said it was a very good place to teach, although the pay is way lower than a place like Bilkent.
I've gotten the impression that the students are much more motivated also, as a lot of them are on scholarship and come from outside the country. I imagine it would be very rewarding to teach there. |
