As the summer term usually stops in June, what are you all doing for the summer?
Summer schools in Poland are notoriously bad payers. 'Akcess' in Poznan usually need people...if you don't mind living by a lake in a forest for 8 weeks. |

I only teach in-house for corporate clients, so it being June, July or August makes bugger-all difference from my perspective.
To be fair, all the students with kids will disappear for two weeks at some point, so at least I'll have some respite from their tales about their whiny little brats, so that'll be all the break I need. |

Summer camps really are a complete waste of time unless you've never been to the Polish Mountains and are just here for a year and really want the experience. Summer is a great time to go on vacation and just spend your money. Or just stay in Warsaw and keep doing exactly what you were doing. I think that most everyone on here has the contacts to continue going throughout the year. |

I'm buggering off for the summer. Sure the pound may be dropping against the zloty, but comparing UK summer school wages (I can earn more than 400 quid/week) against wages in Poland, why would I bother staying? My girlfriend is of the same opinion, and she's joining me. Then again, I guess we're both young, without a flat/family to worry about, so we can leave for a few months. |

Translate/business lessons, and take a long vacation. Still do oddjobs such as at a carwash, great money and you work outdoors. |

Sort out my files, make copies of mostly used handouts, organize books, other admin stuff. Advertising for the next term. Doing odd jobs for different language schools until my holiday time comes. |

Holiday,
No work,
Go and see family in England,
No work,
Bit of running, weights,
No work,
Go and see the dreaded in-laws,
No work, but wish I was,
Beer on Old Town Square,
No work,
Oh, and become a father again,
No work,
You will recognise me running around Krakow, naked, with a copy of Murphy's Grammar shoved up my crimper.
BTW if anyone needs any work in Krakow over summer, PM me, I have lots. |
