|
|
in August...for about 6 weeks or 8 week...preferably in Budapest.
I have been working for over 3 years non-stop. I need a holiday.
And I have decided to defer my MA course for a year.
I am both intellectually interested and feel obligated in a civic sense to learn Hungarian.
Anyway: does anyone here have any (personal) experience with Hungarian language courses or could recommend a good one? which also provides for accommodation? and is also not ridiculously expensive?
Cheers for the info (though I don't think much will be forthcoming as I doubt most people bother to study Hungarian). |

I have a feeling that IH Budapest run some sort of course, or at least they used to. It might be worth checking out their website. I remember looking into it a few years back and I'm sure there is some kind of two-week intensive in-country course. Not sure if it's still running though.
Also I would recommend you get a copy of Teach Yourself Hungarian by Zsuzsa Pontifex (Hodder & Stoughton - ISBN 0-340-56286-2). It makes quite a good introduction to the language and you give you a decent headstart if you sign up for a course.
