Well, the (NEW) Czech Step by Step arrived the other day. Looks good. Definately a fan of all the pictures, diagrams...and colors!! Now I have no excuse...it's learnin' time.
Hey, if we're going off-topic to plug vaguely thread-related establishments than I have to mention the Canadian distributor where I procurred Step-by-Step: Czech-books.com offered it new, for 40% less than any other listing I found. Worth recommending...if we're allowed to do that sort of thing here... |

There is a website that I recommend for learning some basic phrases and idioms: http://myczechrepublic.com/ (go to the Language section). Have you seen it? The site is put together by a Czech woman and her American husband, both of whom live in the Czech Republic. Lots of good cultural info there as well as a language forum and recordings to help you with learning pronunciation. I am, by the way, not affiliated with the site. Just think it's an excellent resource. |
