Does anyone happen to be a British Overseas Territories citizen? I'm Canadian, by the way. What European countries am I eligible to work in? I'm aware that I can contact specific embassies, however I wanted to see if anyone here had quick info on the subject.

EDIT***

I should have been more clear in my post - I have dual Can/Brit citizenship. My age won't work against me for the time being Wink

Thanks for the links.

If you're (only) Canadian, you can still get legal work permits for the 'new' EU member countries, including Poland, Hungary, the Czech Rep, and others. It's a hassle, though!! Western European countries are essentially not feasible with a Canadian (or US or Australian) passport.

You could do working holiday visas, look here

You've got the world at your feet. for WHV, I think canadians have the best luck.

there are age limits to whv...if the op qualifies, then there are more open doors, but it's not accurate to say 'the world's at your feet.'

Those whv's are also limited in time.

Correct, mosthave an age limit, 30 or 35, still if the OP's under that age, than he or she has a couple of countries to choose from, and lots are in Europe. WHV are great and pepole should take advantage of them while they can.

M ost of them are between 3 to 12 months. BUt that's stil nothing to sneeze at.

....cross Holland / Netherlands off. my sister lives there and she tells me it's extremely tight even if you're married to a naturalized citizen.

WHVs work in a few European countries. Not all of them.

That said, I absolutely agree that the OP should take advantage of them!

I work in Nederlands myself, but the combination of qualifications, contacts, and luck that got me a legal work permit here is quite rare, for sure.

Sprekt u vloeiend Nederlands? of spreek iedereen Engels met u zo dat u geen kans hebt?

Ik kan verstaa Nederlands, maar (and now my confused mind starts to substitute Czech - in which I'm functional, at least).

I lived here in the past for three years and studied up to 50% of the level that the Dutch government want for citizenship, but I have now been away for four years, and am just back for a month. Thanks to an intensive work schedule, it's going to take me a little while to get back in Dutch mode - but I will do.
