I want to to say a big thank you for all of you that have answered my bizarre questions these last few weeks.

Anyway, my old work-visa and re-entry permit is still there, I have until next Wednesday to renew my ARC card. But my old boss said I can work there again , at last temporarily. So, I feel a whole lot better now when I face the hurdles at Immigration around about Monday.

I have been away 5 months now. It took me 3 months to figure out that Japan is much nicer than the UK in so many ways (am I a slow learner?).

So, see you all on the other side.

Big thanks to Glenski and Aspara in particular.

You will be so glad to be back. I have been back since Feb. I was in Japan from 2001-2004, and because I was nearing 30 in 2004, I decided to go home, despite a part of me that wanted to stay. Well, the minute I got off the plane I knew I made a mistake. Japan wasn't out of my system yet. I spent a lot of days longing for my old Japan lifestyle from 2004 until this year. How glad I am that I returned! It's a decision I'll never regret! I have a completely different perspective now, too, since I am older this time around, so it's really interesting for me.

Yeah I am older now. I wasn't that young before.
hehe.

It's strange how your perspective does change though, as you said. Stuff like "laws" really get to me now, worry me. "When I was a lad", I didn't give 2 hoots about strolling through immigration wearing a submachinegun and 5kg of plastic explosive... Wink

Now it worries me cos I don't want them asking me "Why did you leave Japan for 5 months".

Perhaps its age and perhaps its just me.

Ah well the search for a simple life continues.
If anyone has its location, please post me the co-ordinates.
Smile
