|
|
I know that whenever you move you are required to update your card. How about this-I just got a brand new passport a couple of months ago and I saw last night, just looking at my gaijin card, that there's actually passport information on the front as well. Since I'm going home for a month this summer, should I be getting down to my city office with my new passport and getting that updated? |

the new passport should have a new number, so, yes I think it should be wriiten on the back by a city official. |

Yes, you should have that changed. Any time any of the info on the card changes, you need to go to the office to have your card updated. |

When in doubt, it's better to just go down (or call) and get the straight scoop from the real authorities. |

I seriously doubt this will cause a problem with immigration. It took me two or three months to get things updated on my card. I believe the change of address is the one thing you shouldn't waste any time updating. |

Well it's a 20 minute bike ride and I got the time so I'll just scoot on down on my day off-better safe than sorry. |

The thing is Immigration aren't going to know that your job or address has changed. If they do want to see your card though, and look closely enough (I didn't get asked for my ARC last time) they will see that your passport number is different, so I would put that as a higher priority for updating, somewhat below updating after renewing your visa. |
