And on many other pages on their website they still refer to themselves as "Hail Community College" even though it stopped being that and became "University of Hail" around January 2006. You might say I am being petty, but that says a lot about the place there. "Speed of change"? Well I guess they are talking about a snail. Or maybe this shows a trend of lies and deceits?

May nearly finished and we still waiting for April's salary !! because the university hasn't paid the company yet !!
I sent many messages to the rector and managers but no response !!
This is our suffering here, who signed the contract with ( M.Trading,Tulbah ) this compnay based in Al-Khobar.
Please , beware of them , donot do our mistakes, do not listen to their promises. When I was in the UK, They promised me to get paid on time !!!
Avoid this company and sign the contract directly with the university.
The university will pay its teachers for June and July in advance ! and we still waiting for the last month's salary, funny !!
I will lose my house in the UK due to this dodgy company !
The company is waiting for the university's cheque ! and the university's accountants are very lazy, they just remembered us 2 weeks ago !! they were sleeping !just busy with their Kabsa ( rice and meat ) and nap !!
Careless, and we pay the price as usual !
Pleaaaaase avoid this company : M.Trading ( Tulbah ) based in Al-Khobar.
It is the story of torture and victims of carelessness ! |

There is an alternative to Hail. PMU is hiring like crazy right now.
You can come onboard for either the Summer session or the Fall session on 1 Sept. 2008.
All it takes is a C.V. to Chairman Robert L. (MOD edit - no names please)
The people at Hail are finding out what I have known for a fact for over a year.

If you are into misery, just to see how miserable you can be, go ahead exist at Hail.
It isn't necessary though. KSA is an unusual assignment, so make the most of it, go to where you can be comfortable.
Nothing like spending a weekend in Bahrain after the work week. Of course, if sand, mountains, and a small town is your bag, do be happy. I prefer 4 shopping malls or a quiet day at a private beach (PMU has access to them).
Holiday travel from Al-Khobar is easy. Nothing like a short trip to Egypt for attitude adjustment.

Hail is much, much closer to Egypt than Khobar.

Going to the dentist is cheaper, and you're less likely to pick up an SDT (sorry STD, though you might pick up the latter from the former).

None of the shopping malls actually sell anything worth buying. And staring at sand in the company of the people I work with all week somehow doesn't leave me quivering with excitement.
Think of both Khobar and Hail as being rest rooms for people suffering from catatonia. The tea and biscuits might be better in one of them.

| You can ignore both Hail and Khobar and apply for a job in sunny Jubail, which has beaches to spare, including public beaches with almost nobody on them, or beaches with loads of people. Lots of trees and gardens, plus you are only an hour drive from the fabulous malls of Khobar, so highly praised above, but free from the terrible drivers of the above-mentioned city. It's close enough to Kuwait or Bahrain for a weekend trip, and from what I've been told Egypt is the real place to avoid unless you're on a package tour, so no need to be close to there. The alleged pollution here is a terrible lie told by escapees with dubious credentials. All in all, a wonderful spot to live and work! |

Guess what, going to the bathroom to take a dump is even cheaper, actually, it is free! "roll: And "SDT"s are not transmitted through the air. If you are the type to use the "vessels" containing "SDT"s, that's your choice, and you shouldn't come to the Arab world in that case. But no matter where you use those "vessels", you have to be careful of catching "SDT"s, not just in Bahrain.

Right. No shoes, no clothes, no magazines, no food, no books, no music, no electronics, nothing useful, right? They sell cow manure, perhaps? And BTW, how are these malls any different from any other malls in the KSA or anywhere else in the world for that matter? Don't you work at KFUPM (or used to)? If so, tell us with a straight face that you have not bought a single thing from any of the malls. Also tell us with a straight face that you have never made a trip to Bahrain.

Again, being extremely obtuse on purpose. Hey, there is more to do at a beach than stare at sand. If beaches are not your thing, that's your choice, but the majority of the world seems to like beaches, so brasscat's advice in that regard is valid. And you don't have to go to the beach with your wonderful co-workers, you can go alone... wow, what a concept! |

The trainers come in all colours, sizes and shapes!
The students are punctual, too. Come 7:00 pm, Thursday and there they are, from across the Causeway, with their noses deep in study material on Exhibition Road. |

| What on earth is an SDT? I've heard of STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) and was warned that they are freely available in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In any case they are easily avoided. Only the foolish or drunk would bring one of those maladies back to the Magic Kingdom. Apparently, many Saudis do. |

Bahrain has one thing I personally enjoy, first run new movies to see.
The new Indiana Jones movie started there last week.
I wouldn't go to Cairo, Egypt either. I went by riverboat from Luxor to Asway instead.
There is a major end of term beach BBQ and party going down next week. Wonder where Hail is going to have their's?
Of course, we do get by with an evening swim in the Oryx Compound swimming pool.
Plenty of new openings at PMU, we even have a school bus taking us to the airport for our summer vacations.
Tough duty, but somone has to do it.
