I like Leon and Montejo when I can get them. Got hooked on Pacifico when I lived in Arizona but its best with a ton of limes squeezed into it (I like a little beer with my lime juice!)
Need to try Bohemia Oscura.. and will keep my eyes peeled for it. But I agree that michleladas are for light beers.
However much I like Mexican beers and US microbrews, neither will ever hold a candle to the Bavarian stuff. |

I cannot believe how many of you ruin a beer - even a bad one - by making a michelada!

Oh my Canadian friend...
It isn't ruining a beer.
I certainly wouldn't ever add that mix to a porter, stout, doppelbock, or any previously tasty beer.
But on a hot day in La Laguna (you know the misery of which I speak) a well prepared michelada is absolutely fantastic.
I tried to get my dad to like 'em but it just isn't happening. He echoed your sentiment, that I had ruined his beer.
While I disagree wholeheartedly, I absolutely HATE CLAMACHEVE. |

Never got into micheladas myself...and I can't believe I missed this thread.
Nothing goes down better on a hot day than a dos equis, chilled right cold. |

I've never liked drinking beer, even after living seven years in Wisconsin, the land of beer and brats (do miss the latter, though), but maybe I'd like a michelada, if I knew what one was... |

I can't get into them either - there's just no alternative to a cold beer! Why cheapen it? |

| What about the Corona Barriles? I don't know if it is just Corona in a fat brown "barril" but I swear it tasted better than the regular clear bottle variety. Also, +1 to the XX and Negra Modelo's |

My problem with the barrils (well other than that I don't like regular Corona), is that they are non-returnable Thank you Corona, more trash is just what Mexico needs. |
