Hi All
I'm hoping to catch a Cathay Pacific flight from:
London to HK
HK to Shanghai
I have my Chinese Z visa sorted, the only thing is, I want to stop over in HK for a couple of nights before I head on to Shanghai. Should I take this option, do I have to pay any additional airpot fees at HK if I leave the airport then come back in 2 days?
Travel agent assured me that the ticket price will remain the same as if I was traveling on the connecting flight to Shanghai. My worry is more about additional airport costs or possible entry fees. Can anyone shed any light to this?
Regards,

As far as I know there are no charges when entering Hong Kong. People from most countries can enter without a visa for up to 90 days. If you are British I think you can actually stay for 6 months.
However, there are some countries that require a visa even to transit Hong Kong. My partner is Ghanaian and needs a visa every time he visits.
If you look on the immigration website you will find the countries listed and the visa requirements. |
