This post is in response to the events that have led to multiple teachers being refused permission to exit Taiwan because of bogus tax requirements as result of opening a specific bank account mandated by their employers. This is illegal and should not be tolerated!
Many teachers are finding that their accounts and names are being used for money laundering and tax evasion purposes.
If your employer requires or request that you open an account in a specific bank to facilitate payment for goods or services, you should immediately file a complaint with Ministry of Finance Anti-Corruption Task Force listed below.
Ministry of Finance
Anti-Corruption Department
P.O. Box 5-100 Taipei
Tel: 0800-024034
Fax: (02) 2321 0775

You should first write a detailed report detailing what was said to you, by whom, name and address of your employer and any relative dates or documents.
Include your name and passport/ARC number, bank account info and contact information.
The Ministry of finance offers protection for employees who have been taken advantage of by disreputable employers as well as substantial rewards for whistle blowers (you).
Note: You do not have to be in Taiwan to file this complaint.
