Hi everyone!
I have my first EFL interview coming up in a couple of weeks in Chile. The interview is for a language institute for adult learners. What can I expect in the interview? What are some questions the interviewer (who's the academic coordinator at the site) might ask me? What should I bring with me? What questions should I ask? I am a US citizen with a BS in Psychology and Spanish and a TEFL certification but no EFL teaching experience.
Thanks so much for your help! |

Expect them to provide situations for you and you need to know what you would do in each situation. YOu'll be asked about your background, studies, why you want to teach with them.
Look for more info on tefltips.blogspot.com . YOu might also be asked about salary expectations, hours, etc.
ASk about subbing, lesson plans, who makes quizzes, grades. |

I would be prepared to answer what the assumptions about adult learners are
(hint: Malcolm Knowles) and how teaching adults is different than teaching adolescent learners.
Good luck, and hope you ace the interview. |
