| out of all the blogs here, and various other places I have been to on the web, it all seems but impossible to exist teaching English in Argentina. In my case I am thinking about a change in life, and in fact won't have to be concerned with a place to stay there and paying rent..taking having to pay rent out of the equation, is it feasable to be able to live within the means and save a little cash? can someone help me out? |

YOu could try branching out
Private classes
Small group classes
Writing for the web
an online business
Do a couple of jobs and you should be able to make ends meet and save as well. |

| Argentina is my desired destination (also change of life) but slightly hampered by accommodation worries. If that's not an issue for you, based on my limited knowledge (6 weeks at language school) then it's surely possible to live to a reasonable standard, saving all or some of the money you would have used for rent. |

try contact places that DON'T advertise.
Usually they pay better and ....you have a better chance.
Google Universities, International Schools, American Schools in Argentina,
and the like...
don't be shy to ask them to help you pay the rent as part of the contract or to include paid airfares or portions of it.

my rent is a third of my income and i could be teaching more if i want to, but i'd rather have more free time.
saving depends on if you're just saving pesos to travel here or you're saving to bring the money out of the country. inflation here is rising and people are a bit worried about the economy right now. keep your nose in the newspaper articles. i'll have some pesos left in savings but when they turn into dollars, it won't be much. also, it will take you a while to make that wage since classes are slow to start. you might be paying back a little debt to yourself if you aren't coming with a lot.

If you won't need to pay for rent then you're lucky and have nothing to worry about.. Despite inflation that is on the rise, it is possible to exist here teaching ESL if you really want to.. Finding cheap rent without guarantia is the biggest issue, you have to consider shared accomodations and watch your expenses. It's a good idea to arrive here with some savings until you're settled..
There is a huge demand for English teachers here, let alone native English speakers.. The only down side about teaching ESL here is that you can't work legally and get the work visa, and that limits people a lot..
Another route you can take is trying to work in call centres, for more info about that pm me...
