Yes, New York state in particular. The rules probably vary state by state, and New York required the originals. It really doesn't make any sense since they have the original documents on file and can simply check them against the notarized copies, but I've given up expecting logic from them. |

OK stupid question but why do these documents need to be attested? Is this a new procedure for working in the UAE now? Are people joining HCT required to do this? I'd like to know as if i decide to return to the UAE I'll have to go through it.
I've never had problems with notaries here refusing to sign things. Our notary in the local bank has stamped and signed a dozen documents for me to prove that the documents are true copies of the originals.
