Hiyas,

For some reason I'm very hesitant to mention that I'm coming back to Mexico, but lets just say I am, and leave it at that...

I'm down on what I'll need to wear to work, and appropriate going out clothes, but what to wear to my (hopefully frequent) trips to the beach? I know Mexicans are more modest than others, but is a bikini ok? I want to buy myself a nice one before I get there, if its appropriate for me to wear one. Or should I go for something that covers my belly (which will hopefully be smaller by the time I get there Wink )?

Cheers,
Lozwich.

Maybe it differs by beach, but I've seen a lot of bikinis at beaches I've been to.

Loz, I think I live in a conservative area, one you happen to know. I've seen a heck of a lot of bikinis not just at beaches, but at the local pools as well. Often on people who have no business wearing a bikini!!! I think what ever you are comfortable in goes, for some, that's a bikini, some a more modest suit, others still, shorts and a T-shirt.

Groovy!

I was actually thinking of where you live Melee, when I posted that. To make sure I'm covered I shall splash out on a series of gradually more modest attire, to avoid any offense.

Although I suppose the tattoos I have will always upset some people, regardless of how scantily I'm clad... Cool

Maybe it's that superstitious feeling that if you talk or think too much about something you're looking forward to, it won't happen Smile . But we're all ready here to roll out the welcome mat for you!

Aw thanks, MO! Very Happy

I can't go into details, but I just found out one very negative thing about starting this new job. Probably combined with the nerves I'm feeling anyway, anywhere other than Mexico is looking appealing just now! I'm going to try to suck those feelings up, and just get on with it, but its now looking more daunting than ever!

My offspring spent the day at a water park (El Rollo) yesterday, and not having swam for a long time, spent the previous day bathing-suit-shopping. She chose a 2-piece with a bikini top & little boy-cut bottom, similar in coverage to the 3rd one on the top row here: http://www.bikiniyellowpages.com/two_piece_swimsuit_1.htm I would expect that appropriate beach wear would be similar to water park wear, certainly not more conservative.

Good luck in your new job & new location!
