I have three questions:
1. Do you know if Saudi Embassy or the university in KSA requires your degrees' translation into Arabic? Is Original English certified (or notarized) copy enough?
2. When you get your visa from Canada, do you need to come to KSA by plane or can you drive from somewhere else, like Jordan or UAE?
3. I have a transit visa for Saudi, with this visa, could you leave the country from airport after you enter KSA from UAE by land?
Thanks for your comments. |

No. Unless if you are going to teach Arabic literature and Poetry!

They say that all roads lead to Makkah. As far as your visa of entry is valid, you can use any means of travel to enter the magic kingdom.

Ask the Saudi embassy for your case.
Usually, to exit the magic kingdom you need an exit visa. |

I needed mine translated into Arabic for the family visa. It also needed a stamp from the embassy in the country of issue. It was not too expensive to get the translation done here, or I could get it done by my employer if I was patient. For my work visa no translation was needed. Ask your employer and the embassy. |

Windstar, do you have both a KSA transit visa and work visa? With a transit visa, you can enter, exit, enter, and fianlly exit at the same place you entered. With a work visa, you can enter any way you like. If you enter KSA with a work visa, then you must wait until you get your iqama before your can exit again. This may take 2-3 weeks.
Windstar, are you going to register your in KSA? I was thinking of driving but I've decided to sell my car and buy a new one in KSA. It is a waste of money but the idea of trying to register animportd car personally in KSA scares me. |

More than a decade ago I remember initial entry visas having port of entry (ie. 'airport' written on them).
The problem with driving will be the entry permit for the car not you.
More details please. |

I got my transit visa which mentions my car's plate number and waiting for the work permit to come. I am leaving in the first week of July for KSA and my intention is to register the car on my name. But I heard I can do it after i get iqama. I am not in a hurry. |

Windstar, you da man! You are doing what I wanted to do. I first intended to drive my car into KSA in 2nd week of July, get the iqama by third or fourth week of July, register the car, and fly out at the end of July. I scraped that idea b/c I wasn't sure about how long it would take to register the car.
I'm gonna sell my car here and buy another car there. I'm thinking of a Nissan X-Terra. I just hope that even though X-Terra's are new that they havd reasonable resale value and the spare parts are easy to obtain (b/c they are Nissan and they can use other Nissan cars spare parts (like Pathfinder, X-Trail, PAtrol, etc.)). |
