Hello!
I'm coming alone to Jakarta on Thursday, 12.June,
as a young (26) Polish female, without Bahasa knowledge,
however with curiosity to explore the city, then a bit of this country, and open to learn about Indonesian culture and its people
I'm not an EFL teacher, however I attended expat meetings in Warsaw and people told me about your forum and were sure you could be of help
Anyway, the story is longer.. but in the end.. I'm coming alone to Indonesia for 1month. I have some arrangements in central Kalimantan and Yogya later on, but the first 2 weeks -I would like to stay in and around Jakarta.
I'm coming as a backpacker, on a low budget. With accomoddation I was trying to spread the word, find some contacts somewhere -and I hope I will have places to stay,
but during the day (as all of the hosts work full-time) -I would be alone.
If any of you- would like to share their stories from Jakarta, while accompanying me around the city -maybe a walk around old Batawia, Blok M, Ancol or a bus ride around different quarters, a motor ride or anything else, maybe having breakfast/lunch/dinner together - it would be a pleasure for me!
I would really appreciate your help, your assistance -I would feel safer, not alone and be happy to meet new people, to talk, to share and to learn!
hope to hear from you

Well if it didnt work out, maybe it was just as well...
I mean if it was your first time in Indo and you only had a month... would you waste 2 weeks of it in Jakarta!
First time i went there i hated it and got out after 2 days. But sure, like anywhere, it helps to have people show you around. Now I'm actually hunting for a job there.
Even so, I'd say there many more places deserving of your brief time here. Hope you found em! |
