I have searched but cannot find the current tax rates for Fts. Someone posted that the new tax rate is 5200 as a base but I am unable to find that .
Anyone have a link that shows this? And whats the % above 5200?
My contract shows 4800 and 10% above that rate but if it has been changed then I want then to tax me less. |

Jeff,
Can you please tell us "who" that someone is if it was on this Board, or can you refer us to the post-in-question?
Thanks.

Jeff,
The current information that was given to me by Xiamen University...
Income Tax
You need to pay tax for all your income each month. According to Chinas tax laws, below is the current tax ratio for your monthly income:
(Monthly Income - 4800) tax ratio minus
____ <500 5% 0
500<____<2000 10% 25
2000<___<5000 15% 125
5000<___<20000 20% 375
Example (salary of 5500): 5500 - 4800 = 700. 700 * 10% = 70. 70 - 25 = 45. Tax obligation would be RMB 45 for the monthly salary of 5500.

seem to be paying less income tax effective April 2008.
My regular monthly pay cheque for the last 2 years was 7,525 yuan
but last month I collected 7,645 yuan. They told me there was a
change in the income tax for foreign experts effective April 2008, although the staff in the Income Tax Department told me otherwise.
Please share your thoughts. |
