It's as good a discussion as the next, since all of these discussions should be taken with a grain of salt anyway.
I see your points, and I'm interested.
I was speaking more about the decisions we make rather than the consequences of our decisions. If the choices we make in life are OUR choices, that makes them right.
Some teachers here will tell you that if you don't have a degree and you used to drive a van back home, you're not doing it the right way, that your way of doing things is wrong. They'll say (or believe) that's not the way you become a good or legitimate teacher, this is the way.
They'll say that's not the way you should do it, this is the way.
I don't see it like that, because to me it's not that black and white. What about the shades of gray?
No one can tell me how seriously I should take my job. That's my choice to make, my way of viewing the world and experiencing my life in it. Do I take my teaching seriously? Only as seriously as I need to. Based on the job I have, the less serious the better! |

You're right, no one can tell you what to do, or how to live your life. I'm just a bit anal when it comes to work. Never late or sick, but this is from a few years of experience where I was contrary to that and I let a few people down, not my bosses but my colleagues and I like to think I grew out of that.
I'm here to work and it p's me off some people's attitude, and as you know I am entitled not to like everyone. |
