Going back to the original question " Why is HCT hiring again?" :

friends inform me that 19 teachers have resigned from Fujairah FWC and FMC alone. Multiply that by 12 colleges..............

The difficulty with this kind of maths is that all the details get smoothed out in nonsensical assumptions....

This is similar the statement that the average age of teachers in XX is 47.9 years of age. But what about the 32 year olds and the 61 year olds????

Also, it is similar to the idea that the average number of kids in a family is 1.6 children. What is .6 "children"? I saw none, then 5, then 3, then 1, then 6, and then 2 kids at the pool yesterday, but I have never seen .6 of a child - ever.

This "New Maths" (I suppose) allows for extrapolating ONE fact to the rest of the situation - BUT it is nonsense. However, it certainly allows those who are Maths-illiterate to speculate as to the future - and to entertain myself (and hopefully others) hugely Wink

It also doesn't allow for the reduction in student numbers expected at many colleges, and the corresponding reduction in staff size. FMC, for example, despite losing several teachers due to resignation, is still transferring teachers out.

I thought the Ruwais teachers were commuting from Abu Dhabi. I know that at least one of them is. It also seems that Ruwais and MZ are sharing teachers or were last academic year.

Accommodation at ADNOC is Ruwais, commuting teachers have kids in AD schools so choose to stay in AD and commute. 4day week, 2000dhs travel allowance, No BS in the desert. Reasonable admin. No Fear!

What kind of content are you teaching? Is it Content-based language learning or teaching something altogether different (like math or health science)?

How can we get certified to be able to teach content?

Err...19 teachers is a slight exaggeration. Fewer employees than that left, and they weren't all teachers. Most left at the end of their contracts. I don't think this is a particularly large number, especially if you consider that this is from both colleges.
