				| I can't comment on places I haven't lived in Thailand. I imagine visiting there as a tourist and living there would be rather different experiences. I will say that I could never see myself working in Pattaya. The seediness would quickly wear on me. | |

				| Most folk say it's better to arrive and then look around/find a job.
I would say that, at least 50% of overseas "interviews" lead to misery, disappointment etc.

Thailand is always gonna be different from 'what you expected'. Before I lived here, I had 101 ideas about the place; most of them were wrong.

 IMHO

				| It really depends on what you want out of your stay here. Some prefer rural areas, beach areas and some like me prefer the city.
I've lived in Pattaya ( 5 years) and lived in Bangkok and I much prefer bangkok. Pattay is fun for a while but it does wear you out with the constant idiots that gravitate to the area. Just going out for dinner with my daughter can be a nightmare! Every sleaze bucket on the planet hangs out there, not to mention a few Russian Mafia and many other assorted criminal types.
Chiang Mai area is lovely, as is Hua hin, Cha am . Personally I love Bangkok, it has everything you need. Its a city but the people are very easy going, which in itself is interesting. There are many language schools, as well as a lot of music and arts festivals, fashion shows, concerts, pretty much anything you can dream up, you will find there. If you want to chill out there are parks that have lovely areas to just relax and watch the world go bye. Plus a zillion massage places to have a manicure or massage etc.
Food is cheap and apartment rentals are not too bad if you look!
Hope that helps! Cheers and have fun, you will love it in Thailand

				| I visited Chiang Mai and was impressed. The air quality is bad there though. And because it's a good place to foreigners a lot of them want to live and work there. This equates to a low pay scale. far too many farang for me to consider living or working there. It's almost not-like-Thailand.
