Where is an easily recognizable meeting point in Dammam International Airport after getting off the airplane but before going through immigration, customs, etc.? A restuarant, picture, sign, chairs, waiting area? I want to meet a friend there. We are arriving on separate flights but the arrival times are approximately the same. I need to meet my friend before entering immigration, etc.

It should be easy. You will be the only two passengers. Everyone else uses Bahrain.

Well, as far as I know there are no restaurants or coffee shops before the area of passport and immigration control (except in transit area only). So, the areas where you can meet your friend is in the queue while waiting for passport check, at the transit office, or at the office of immigration/police where they held 'suspicious' visitors.

I have no idea why you need to see your friend before you reach immigration, but the only place to do it, is obviously the immigration queue. Do be aware that there are two immigration rooms at Dammam, so you may well not meet your friend at all.
Why can't you meet him after immigration and customs at the coffee shop?

There is a large fountain in the terminal. I don't remember if it is before or after immigration.

Well, fountains are designed to be in the middle of airports, near coffee shops and restaurants, and not before immigration points.

Is there anything you know nothing about that you won't post a wrong opinion about, 007?

St Jones should feel sorry for Number Seven. He has almost as much free time on his hands as an EFL teacher in Saudi Arabia !
