Well... I done did it! Got a job in Da Big Ciudad and finally heading there to live full time. The new gig starts on Aug 1.

However, I have a huge and somewhat complicated problem. I already have an apt there, as well as a roommate. My problem is my cats. I have 1 female and 2 males, all fixed. The two males do not like each other and have had trouble getting along in the 2 story house I have been living in here in Toluca. My apt in DF is a LOT smaller. There is no way those two could live there without doing some serious damage.

To make matters worse, one of the males, Chuy, has mouth cancer and will eventually die of it. Vet's best guess is 6 months to a year. The other male, Raven, is about 9 years old and quite healthy. While it may seem logical to simply put Chuy down now instead of months from now, Im really trying to avoid it.

So I am wondering if anyone is willing to foster the healthy cat, Raven, until Chuy's time comes. Im willing to pay Raven's expenses.

I might be able to help you out, but I don't start till August 19, and probably won't have an apartment till early September. Let me know if you don't find anyone else though, and we'll see what we can do..

I'll do it. We took care of a cat at Christmas and the girls loved it. (though I did get tired of saying, "Will you leave that cat alone?!" and "If She's under the bed it means she doesn't want to play with you right now." Laughing
But the obvious problem is the logistics of getting him here. Confused So probably not huh?

Wow... quick responses!

Thanks MELEE... but Raven is a skittish cat and easily spooked into hiding ... Chuy, the sick one, actually has a much better personality for children... such as life, is it not? Otherwise, I would have found some way to get him down there.

lozwich... thanks for a Plan B... if need be, I think I can find an intermediate solution for the intermediate solution! Laughing

Lets see what pans out....

ji ji ji ji... I know... and maybe between you, dixie, and lozwich maybe we can work something out. Funny thing is.... Chuy might teach the "terrorist" a lesson or two. When I found him... 800 grams of orange fluff, he took no guff from either of my other two cats. (Great at the time as I was worried about the little thing... became a pain as the two males constantly tried to be top dog, so to speak). Bet Chela would get a couple of good whacks to the snout!

Raven would spend the time at your house hiding under the bed having a nervous breakdown!

Jeez, I know sometimes I have double personality issues, but now even you are calling me two people!?! Very Happy

I will gladly take Chuy and see how it goes. And if he can teach Miss. Terrier-ist a lesson or two, even better! Wink

the cat food/litter thread reminded me of this one...

Update... One cat is now in DF... not exactly happy as she is in a new house without anyone to "talk" to. Will remedy that by next week.

dixie cannot take a cat due to her lease and Im still short by about 6 weeks from now and the time either lozwich or a friend of mine in Toluca can foster a cat for me. Still looking for at least a 6 week temp home for one cat.

What happened to the ferret? Now you`ve adopted a hippo? Whatever is going through your mind, Dixie?

Will our next outing be a "free the hippo expedition"?

You know I'm always game for anything when it comes to a teacher outing. Heck, I almost dragged out the saxophone after the last outing. Stray cats for miles around were glad that I didn't.
