My class went to Maoming last term to observe a pre-school in action. Their verdict, they learned a lot from the school but the city is much to be desired. Not much to go around and they said Zhanjiang is better than it. It's provincial. As for the school, I'm sorry I can't give any feedback.

I second that opinion on Maoming! Nothing but an ugly collection of concrete boxes half-way between Guangzhou and Zhanjiang.
What's more, I don't think any Western business has set up shop there; the name must have been shanghaied, if that's the correct expression.
My memory retains some bytes about some training centre way back in 1998 that claimed to be "partners with an Australian college" or something like that; it was a lousy private business with lose morals, and the name changed a number of times over the subsequent years.
And in private messages, one disgruntled person did complain to me.
I would give this place a wide berth - unless, unless they can prove not to be the same crooks as those mentioned above! |
