Assuming I choose to come to Dubai afterwards, what are my chances of finding a suitiable and non-sketchy position this time of year???

BTW, I heard it's a great time..thanks Laughing

How do you define suitable and non-sketchy? What are your credentials?

The Gulf is not a part of the world where people just show up and look for a teaching job. The living expenses are extremely high and local hire language school work, which is rare, won't even cover rent. And since you would come in on a tourist visa, it would be illegal.

There are many good jobs that start up in second semester, but you must apply for them... probably now... and the hiring process takes months to get all the proper work/residence visas. The better jobs require an MA + a few years of experience. The rest require a BA + CELTA + a few years of experience.

Hey,

Thanks for replying. By Suitable, I mean the package covers at least housing and airfare and the job is at least valid ( not a scam).
I don't really care all that much about salary, just as long as I can save and have decent hours for my M.S.study and travel.I was going to start looking right now.

I will be enrolled in a M.S. Education program (Specified to Learning Disorders), have one year teaching experience in Korea and 6 teaching experience in the USA. One of the reasons I wanted to come to Dubai is because of the great support that is given to the special education field ( not the case in Korea). I need to be working or at least interning in my field during study.

Please list the additional documents I will need to submit, other then my Degree.

Thnaks

You really need either a teaching certification or a MA TESOL. Without those, your opportunities are extremely limited.
