Hi there!
I'm Marita, and I'm an Aussie who has recently moved to Jakarta.
I've just spent almost 6 months living in Surabaya....mostly not doing much on the weekends (except the pool and the malls!)
I really wanna have a lot more fun this time around...especially with music.
I play the guitar (rhthym) and sing...and am really keen to see if there are any other Bules (or non Bules !) out there who would be interested in getting together regularly to jam...and who knows, maybe even form a small band or duo if there were any interested people?
If you are not up for performing, but would just enjoy a jam, feel free to contact me too.
Thanks in advance...I look forward to hearing from you...and you...and you!! (ha ha ha!)
Cheers,
Marita |

Definitely!
I know a music shop that lets anyone come on in & jam...It's around Sudirman street & has an awesome selection (veritable armies of guitars & bass all lined up)...
I play DIKIT piano -- but the little I can do, I love to do...
In comparison to Korea, whatever I get up to on the weekend here (if I stay in Jakarta) lacks substance...Like Bintang beer & nasi padang.
I know some great local kids (one I knew from Korea) who are great on the guitar & try their best @ singing, too...
How does this get arranged? A student of mine once spewed out the locations of all cheapo music studios around the city...& I wasn't really listening...But for about 100,000 an hour we could get a jam room near Blok M I think? |
