Hi everyone,
For those of you who work with Gaba or any other company where you do one to one tutoring, have you had problems with cancellations? I'm going to be teaching with Gaba and I was wondering that because I'm currently teaching English over skype and I just had a cancellation within 40 minutes of my class! I'm really keen to hear what people have to say on this. |

At Gaba students have to cancel by the previous evening, otherwise you will get paid for the lesson anyway even if another student doesn't book it. If they cancel before a certain time and it doesn't fill then you don't get paid. The situation you just described with only 40 minutes notice would mean you still get paid at Gaba.
I have one private student these days. She occasionally cancels with less than 24 hours notice, and I don't charge her because I have done the same thing when I have been too sick to cross Tokyo to teach her. |
