I decided to go to Spain about 3 years ago so started looking on these boards for useful information. Like some others have commented, most of the postings were concerning Barcelona or Madrid[ Although Valencia has now started to appear], and many posts were from non EU citizens asking if they could find work. After a gap of many months I have started looking here again and find the situation to be rather similar in that there is not a lot "happening" in the Spain forum.
I realise from before that there are language schools in almost every town and city throughout Spain, and so there should be jobs available in many of them. In fact I expect there are native speakers working all around the country, BUT few of them are posting here, or perhaps only in the general forum if at all. I have two theories as to why that is, and would welcome comments from any of you who care to respond.
1] Because of the lack of postings from outside two or three big cities, those working elsewhere don't bother,in some kind of "chicken and egg" situation.
2] Desirable jobs are difficult to come by, so nobody is going to give away precious information which could lead to them losing theirs, especially when so many people seem to want to come to Spain just for the experience [and would be willing to work for less money ?]. |

I'd say it is probably that most of the people who are on this forum live in Madrid or Barcelona where the vast majority of the work is.
There are quite a lot of posts on here about teaching in smaller cites, but by definition there are less teachers there and not all teachers visit this forum.
Personally I'm very much a "the more the merrier" sort of person: there's always room in teaching over here, at least in Madrid and it's always good to have new faces in the expat bars and expat football teams: Madrid is far from saturated teaching-wise and a lot of schools find it difficult to find teachers for all their classes.
