This year, I head to Japan and will marry my fiance in July. After completing the marriage registration stuff (including the CNI business at the nearest consulate) with city hall I then want to change my visa from tourist to spouse. So:
1 - We head to immigration, fill out the forms, pay a fee etc. And then - Bam! I get the new visa? Do I have to leave the country or anything like that (I've heard various things and I'm a little confused).
2 - Assuming I've got my brand spanking new Spouse visa, I'm entitled to work, right? (theoretically in anything, not just teaching, but it's looking like the most likely option). Again, do I need any lairy certificate of eligibility or anything like that? I am rather confused about this.
Can anyone help? |
