THE BAIT: 5,500 rmb per month for 12 hours

THE HOOK: Our cost of living is so low it is like 12,000 rmb per month.

THE REEL: 2,500 IS ALL WE CAN OFFER YOU BASED UPON YOUR CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE, ACCORDING TO LAW.

I know 2 PhDs and one MA who took the bait but spit the hook.

The FAO who employs this recruiting methodology settles for a Filipina who teaches singing and dancing in oral English class for 2,000 rmb and 24 hours.

My friends and colleagues, discern teaching jobs from babysitting jobs and align yourself accordingly.

I have checked out many of the so called high salary jobs. 18,000 to teach 12 hours in Beijing. Problem is you must read the entire offer. No airfare, no medical, no health insurance, no internal travel, no food on campus, no permit fee reimbursement, and NO HOUSING. After paying these items yourself and the income tax on the gross 18,000, it looks more like a salary of 8 - 9,000 rmb and you have all the hassles.

Do not be dazzled by the high salary - check out the details!
