Maybe it's me but I suspect that the Saudi board is less conflictive than before and, therefore, less interesting. Trapezius has gone, 007 contributes less than before. The wisdom of Jones is lacking and the grumpiness of the Caledonian curmudgeon appears to be mellowing. Even the arrogance of Cleopatra has diminished somewhat. |

I would have thought that someone living in ESL nirvana - 'self-employment in ehspain - would have no need to get his kicks on an anonymous Saudi jobs board? |

And it baffles me that you're baffled by my intrusions on ''your board''. |

Ya Sheikh...
I'm baffled that you're baffled that he's baffled... but actually I don't wander onto the Saudi board very often.
Is it August and everyone is traveling except us and we're bored?

I dunno.
If I had left a particular country and had no plans to return, having quite disliked the place, I don't think I'd spend much time hanging out on a board dealing specifically with working in said country. I certainly don't think I'd be spending a sunny (?) summer's evening - which also happens to be Olympics opening day - complaining that I was 'losing interest' in that forum.
But maybe that's just my 'arrogance' speaking. |

Guess I'm not "conflictive" enough to be included in the sheik's list of regular posters
In my opinion, the board has become less childish and more professional. I see people sniping less and informing more. That may not count for much as entertainment, but it is certainly a better way of fulfilling the purpose of the board. |

Not so sunny here, in fact. As regards the Olympics, I find the whole thing dull. I caught a glimpse of the opening ceremony- usual Latin narcissism when the Spanish team strutted past. No women in the Saudi team, of course. The Iranian ladies were well covered, what a pity! Splendid young ladies on show when the Latin Americans emerged! |

And why not? Yes, I detest KSA (as do many others, including Saudi nationals). I hope never to set foot in the wretched nation again. BUT I insist that I have a right to freely state the opinions I hold about said country. For the umpteenth time, if Dave Sperling decides that my comments are unaccepatble, then I will still stop making them. I will not, however, be told by Scot47 or Cleopatra what I may or not say. |

Gee, to think I don't even rate interesting any longer.
Reason why things are quiet in the Great Sandbox is, it is vacation time. Most of us are on our home turfs relaxing.
No worries, on 6 Sept. the PMU old crew will be back with no less than 45 new people already there (1 Sept.).

Dear sheik,
Well, good heavens, man - if you find it so much "less interesting", why not post something "controversial" so we can all get "conflictive?
Ooops - my goodness. You did just that, didn't you, you sly devil.
Regards,
John |

No, nor in many other teams of similar size. But of course, certain people only get 'concerned' about women's rights when the female citizens of Islamic nations don't giggle and display themselves sufficientely for the delectation of bored ESL teachers in Spain. Best argument I've yet seen for the hijab, I would say.

The martyr role doesn't quite suit, "sheikh". I can't say I've ever told you 'what you may or may not say' - I don't generally find your comments interesting enough to merit such a strong stance, even if it were my right to censor other posters. If you're going to get hilariously pompous about your 'right to free specech' know that othrers will similarly feel free to say what they like about your comments. It's just that I genuinely am a little bit curious as to why someone who boasts about having left behind his 'wretched' Saudi lifestyle for the joy of tapas bars is spending so much time here. Of course, you are not unique in this - Prodigy is another case in point. And when you then complain that you are 'losing interest' because there's not enough aggro on the board for your liking, it gets all the more amusing. |

I got satellite TV yesterday which was the exact day the Olympics started. So far nobody has shown the least interest in watching them.
When they had them in Barcelona in 1992 I stayed in Cairo until they were nearly over. |
