I'm looking to come teach somewhere in East Asia before I go back to school in Fall '09. Therefore I cannot commit to a full one year contract, but anywhere from 6-9 months would work just fine. Is there any country, ie: Taiwan, Korea, China, SE Asia, where something like this would be possible? If so, through what website or recruiter?
If not, do you know of any other work possibilities that I could find? Or even subsidized volunteer opportunities?
Thanks in advance! |

Lots of places have shorter contracts. YOu might also be able to convince a place that offers you a year contract to give you a six months contract. Never hurts to ask. |

Not many at all in Japan. See my response on the other thread.
Besides, coming for only 6 months often means you barely make up what you spent in setup costs. You usually can't rent an apartment with a 6-month lease, so you'd have to find other options. |

Um, many public schools in China offer 10 month contracts starting next week to get out of paying for the summer holidays. However you get your airfares and accommodation paid for. If you only do six months somewhere you will probably only get paid half the return airfare. |
