Bored minds lead to bored bodies. Actually a touch of the microwaves might stimulate a few into actually remembering why they are still here.

I think the compound used to be called Mahwais when i was living in Euro Village....

For English teachers in Saudi it is pretty good really...some have said it is sterile but so is most of Saudi so i wouldn't worry about that.

All in all good location near Panda souk and good size villas.

As for all the nit picking about spelling. grammar etc....there are genres of writing and boards like these are informal i would have thought......

Dear scot47,
And yet, there are far too many who have "sired" a child (or children) who I'd say are far from attaining adulthood.
Regards,
John

Personal topics are not open for discussion in this venue.

A rabbit has an enormous ability to multiply, yet is not known for its vast knowledge nor ability to learn from its experiences.

The ability to perform a basic biological function only connotes an animal instinct.

Shall we move on to other subjects?

Uncle Scot. I've read that the UK leads Europe regarding unwanted pregnancies among teenage girls. I suppose you consider these lassies ''adults''? BTW, asking a poster about his ''offspring'' is impertinent.

Could someone give an update on PMU housing for singles? Someone mentioned that some singles share. That would deter me from going there.....

As far as I know, the only singles who have shared housing have been those who a) volunteered to do so and b) were given a 1000 SAR stipend to do so.

What has changed since this thread is that PMU teachers are no longer housed at Oryx 3. I believe (lbut I am not certain) that all Oryx 3 people have been moved to Bilad 1.

It is also my understanding (again, by no means a certainty) that all single teachers who arrive in the future will be placed in one-bedroom apartments in Bilad 1.

Bilad 1 is a very large but very old compound. On paper, the facilities sound great, but in fact they are decrepit. However, the villas are larger than Oryx 3, and the compound grounds themselves are spacious and much greener than Oryx 1. There are mixed feelings about this compound, so any newcomer is advised to investigate the circumstances thoroughly.

Oryx 3 is no longer in use. Its inhabitants are now living at Balad 2.

The villa sharing program has been shut down and no new applications are being accepted. This came from HR last week. Existing villa shares remain until either person leaves.

Oryx 1. The pool is no longer in operation. The circulation pumps are in need of repair. Ceiling tiles continue to fall in the villas.

Balad 2. The ancient appliances are being replaced. New airconditioning is being installed. Washing machines, Si/Dryers, No.

Oryx 2. Status unknown, but people still live there.
