Hello all,
I am planning on going to Thailand in Februaray to get CELTA cetified.
I was wondering if anyone has had any good or bad experiences with the International House CELTA program? Is this program Legit?
Thanks,
Any responses would be great |

I don't know and haven't myself checked if IH offer the CELTA in Thailand, but I assume that you have - and if they indeed appear to, all you really need then do is check that the center is genuinely affiliated with not only IH but also (and perhaps more importantly) Cambridge (specifically, UCLES). The following discussion may be helpful (I'm pretty sure it contains the relevant official links that'll enable you to check up on things yourself):

International House more or less invented the Celta; the original Celta was more or less a copy of IH's own in-house training program. So, yup, IH are about as legit as it gets as providers of Celta courses. I don't know anything about IH Thailand though. It might be worth getting hold of information about their pass rates from IH or Cambridge.

Yeah, I mentioned the "indebtedness" of Cambridge to IH on the thread linked to above. It's a good idea though, as you suggest SNS, to try to find out more about the actual center at which one possibly intends to train. |

I took the CELTA at IH in Bangkok. Excellent. The owner of the company worked as an EFL teacher at the Bangkok branch of Harrow for six years to fund it, so you are dealing with somebody dedicated to good teaching. |

I completed the CELTA at Bangkok IH last year. It is definitely a legitimate school. The program was very good, and a lot of hard work is involved. If you have any specific questions, then feel free to pm me. |
