This topic was touched upon in my other thread about leaving soon but I wanted to elaborate and see if anyone else had any ideas.

I'll be in Fukushima City by the time the winter break rolls around and I want to have at least something small planned for the break. I'm looking for something relatively inexpensive and something that someone with limited Japanese skills will be able to navigate/get to easily (I'm in the process of learning some Japanese it's just going slower than I had hoped with the amount I've been working lately to save up as much as I can before I go). Any ideas or suggestions?

Fukushima is going to be cold come winter break so somewhere with hot springs might be worth considering.

While in training, you're probably going to make some friends who'll be living in or around Tokyo. Get in good with them and arrange to crash at one or more of their places during the break. Most will be awaiting their first full paychecks and will likely be close to broke, so, you know, buy dinner and some beer... You're golden, my friend.

Thanks for the ideas guys, I like both of them Laughing
So far in all the Aeon new recruits I've come across not a single one has been going to training the week I am so I guess I'll just have to make friends once there. Something close to home like travelling a little around Tokyo could be fun, even just a shopping trip or something.
