In Kyoto and just having a great time! Unfortunately, I have to go back to China Friday. So no Tokyo this trip.
But, it`s time to start looking for a job in Japan.
If anyone needs a corporate trainer, business teacher, or GASP! Even an English teacher, pm me...
I just can`t live in China again and keep an open mind .
Japan has opened my eyes to the fact that clean air and polite people do exist in the world... |

| Ah, but the novelty will wear off, believe me. After 18 months of cleanliness and politeness I moved to China. I left a big clean flat, better pay, everything worked, organised, etc for low pay, grotty apartment, cheating employers, dirt in streets, chaos. I loved it. Why? The people were genuine. |

| If China and Japan were roomates China would be the one who never took showers and left all the empty pizza boxes in the living room. Japan would be the nerdy neat freak who stayed in his room all day and watched anime. The lazy guy may have more fun now but the nerd always gets the good stuff in the end and is cooler. |

Surpised no one has mentioned Korea here; it is a healthy mix of dirt, trash, pollution, Confucianist insanity and insularity. The best of both worlds, so to speak...

I'm China and purchased a r/t from Shanghai to Osaka for 6 days.
I've been reading the travel tips for both cities and was wondering if my fellow DaveItes in Japan could give me some suggestions where to stay and what to see if Osaka and Tokyo.
My plan is to stay in Osaka for 2 days then go to Tokyo for 3 days then back to Osaka.
So first question, is 2 days in Osaka doing justice to what there is to see there?
And the best way to get to Tokyo? It appears that the Bullet train is wickedly expensive. Something like $140 usd plus for a one way. Is the bus a decent alternative? Any less expensive trains?
What about decent cheap accommodations? I was planning on reserving a room for the first two days in Osaka but after that unsure.

They have a hotel I have often stayed at in OSAKA that is US$26/night....and in Tokyo, there are some hostels for as low as US$19/night. |

| I stayed at a few hotels and my favorite place to stay was J - Hoppers in Kyoto. Nice hostel and great people that work there. |
