Hi all,

You guys have been great at answering some hard to find out questions, I sure appreciate it.

My wife is a hard working career woman with a great job here in Taiwan and she doesn't want to leave her country. I don't blame her but I'm really burned out on TW, being a Hobo, I hear the call of the road again!

I have traveled with my daughter before and spent up to 2 months away from home without her mommy being along, so as far as that goes I think we can handle it.

But it would be great to have your opinions on how easy or difficult it would be to take care of the kindergarten arrangements or daycare for her while I work from 7am to 3 pm.

Options:
1) Find a daycare and someone to drive her to school. I don't know how much this would cost or how safe it would be.

2) Find a nanny to watch her from 6am to 6pm, do light cleaning and light cooking. Cost about 120KD for a live in nanny, but I would prefer that the nanny go home each night.

Any brilliant insights on these options or an option I might be missing?

Get a job teaching in a school and she can be with you all day.
Surely that is better than leaving her with any nanny- when you accidentally bump into her in the corridor.

I'll be on it like a duck on a june-bug.
I can tell from this forum that ESL teacher cammaraderie still runs high on the priority list in Kuwait. That's a great plus in my book ; )

Admirable - your spouse can continue as a highly respected successful career woman with a great job in Taiwan. As a male Westerner you will do well in Kuwait and your lady wife continue to earn, succeed etc at home in Taiwan.

If she joined you in Kuwait there would possibly be some bias, prejudice and/or misunderstandings for her to deal with in the local national society regarding her own origins from Taiwan viewed as tied in with Asia/ Far East. Many people are trying to improve matters of Human Rights here.
