Hi everyone. I am currently selecting a new country to teach in. I have added Taiwan to the list. If anyone there or been there could tell me good cities to look for work... I will appreciate any feedback, Thanks.... |

I think a lot depends on what you are looking for. Do you want to teach adults? Children?
Also, are you looking for a city with a lot to do? Nightlife? Scenery?
I suggest you look at some of the articles here for more information:

Thanks for that info. I don't like the idea working for a big chain school, but flying to Taiwan with no idea, would be tough as well.... I am thinking about Laos and it sounds like the same scenerio...
I am just finishing my year in Korea, and I can't leave here fast enough. I mean the money is good, but I have had enough of the "n" look... LOL |

I taught in Tainan city for just over three years and mostly enjoyed it. Southern Taiwan is pretty much sunny all year ( summers get rather hot and smoggy) Tainan isn't a particularly cosmopolitan city but it is cheap and big enough (800 000 or so) I have some friends in Kaoshiung who seem to like living there as it has more to offer culturally. Of course, there's always Taipei but expect some rain and higher expenses. |
