The salary for an Asst. Prof is between Dh11900 and DH 17000 /m (Tax free), depending on the university (private vs state), type of your PhD, years of teaching experience, color of your passport, and other factors!

BTW, UK is in shortage of Maths lecturers!!

I left the UAE some years ago, but I would think you could expect much more than above. I know current HCT faculty on around 20,000 Dhs, plus all the other perks they get. Heads are on circa 25,000 and Directors 35,000 plus car

As an Assoc Prof w/5-year US experience I'm offered an AED 20000/month salary in a private University.

Good luck!!
Negotiate if you can but always remember there is no shortage of qualified and professionally trained faculty members from arab (bilingual and can communicate well with the students in both languagues) and asian countries who are willing to work in less salary.

Sincerely.

New TEFL MAs are getting offers of 13,000-19,000 to start (with some years of related experience before their MA - range depends on employer).

So I would say that you should be looking at around 15,000+ plus all the usual perks of free furnished housing, tickets, etc.

As a point of comparison, the Glenelg School of Abu Dhabi which recently opened offers its teachers with a bachelor degree plus 5 years of experience average salaries of around AED22,000 per month. And it is even more for those with a Master or PhD degree, topping out at about AED28,000.

I know and it always depends on the program you teach in. I'm not talking about ESL but other professional and technical programs in the UAE.

HCEG1, thank you for the comment....
hafniumite- What programs they offer?

Dear HCEG1
I certainly appreciate your assistance and your interest in improving my English language skills (BTW, I can speak 5 languagues and can write 4 as well).

When you have some free time, please take a look at this article:

How "Correct" is British English?

Glenelg is a high school teaching the usual range of subjects. They do offer good salaries but some of their recent hires jacked it in very early on as they couldn't find any accommodation with the allowance they were given.

As you are as incapable of giving a link as of forming a correct question in English we are not going to be able to.

Anyway, the phrases you gave What programs they offer and in less salary are as incorrect in American English as they are in British English.
