I am a Canadian who has a 120 hour TESOL Certificate. I am heading down to Mexico at the end of Feb 2004. I have a few interviews already lined up, one in San Luis Potosi at English Unlimited one in Tomatlan(a new school I believe) possibly one in Sahuayo, Michoacan with Culturlingua and one in Cuernavaca at Cuauhnahuac English Department. I will also be stopping along the way in Queretaro, Aguaescalientes? Guanajuato, Mazatlan and a few other places along the way. Does anyone have any info on the schools that I mentioned or of any other good schools that may be hiring in March. By the way, are they really that strict about the dress code? |

Let us know how that goes. I'm returning to Van from a year of teaching overseas, and I think it's very liekly I'll be heading down to Mexico looking for work in July or August.
If a school tells you they have a dress code, then yes, they expect you to dress that way. Don't worry - eventually you get used to wearing the noose around your neck... |

hi
im in guanajuato in the university. they may be hiring for the september semester when you roll through. you should stop by and leave your resume at the school if youre interested in work for the fall. march is a bad time for hiring at most schools because there arent summer programs, so be prepared to be unemployed for a few months because you likely will be. and, the uni here isnt really strict on dress codes. actually, the director wears jeans pretty frequently. i think usually the dress codes come into effect in the more "prestigious" schools. |
