I was working rotation in Libya for a Libyan company and I
have just left there for the following reasons.

I did not get paid for the days I missed at home,
they said they would pay me double for the 3 days
missed, I never saw it.
They said would pay my traveling cost from the airport to my
home this I did not receive.
The best CON one was when they told me to buy my return air
ticket I paid UK POUNDS they paid me me local currency,costing me 60 pounds NEVER REFUNDED.
Also when I was leaving they promised to send my cargo
this was not sent.
So it strongly recommended you do NOT work for a Libyan
company.
Working rotation is like constant work, never out of the
place students around you all the time so WHEN YOU WORK IT OUT the hourly rate is very low compared with Europe or the Middle East and you get holidays. IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND EUROPE.

Broken promises and where they get you to use your
own money, then do not refund you,and they keep thinks
belonging to you no matter the assurances they give that
this will be sent to you, ha ha, Fork tongue comes strongly
into it.
I have worked in countries in Europe, Oman and Qatar but
Libya was by far the worst and I have been in this business
for 25 years and it is the first time I have need to post
any thing on wed sites like this.

Don't judge Libya by the experience you had with Khortag.

You've worked in Qatar and Oman, so why did you accept such a ridiculously low offer and general package? They advertised on TEFL.com at under 20 grand and told you you'd have to pay for most of your flight. It's not Libya's fault you took a bum rap, it's yours.

SRS bureau recently advertised on behalf of Zuetina Oil at 30 grand, Sirte Oil are currently offering slightly more and APT will give you between 21 and 27 on a 6 and 3 rotation. Even Bell and Lang Sols offer about 25. You applied for and took, the worst advertised job I've ever seen here. No one to blame but yourself.

Deals in Libya range between 20 and 40 grand a year (GBP). The beauty of Libya is that you can get Saudi money, but 18 weeks holiday a year and 6 flights paid for. You don't have to spend 10 months in country and the locals are friendly and respectful at work.

6 weeks go in a flash and if you're ok doing a lot of exercise, reading, watching tv and surfing the internet you'll not get bored. You might get lucky and find the odd bar even:)

Libya is on the up......you got rooked.....it can happen anywhere.
