I'm trying to figure out a way to travel around during our next week long vacation and the train prices are murdurous. The Japan Rail Pass seems like a deal but it's only for temporary visitors. Anybody know if there is something for people with working visas?

Cheers!

Juhachi kippu pass. But it is only good for certain times of the year (school holidays). It is about 11,000 yen for a 5 day pass. It can be shared with as many people as you want (5 max. of course). Not sure of the dates, sorry. I bought it last year and it worked well, but it is only on the slow trains.
