I've been offered a teaching position in Qatar. I'm an American female.
My husband is Yemeni and my question is will he be able to visit me in Qatar? He has no desire to work in Qatar as he is well educated and has a good job in Yemen, but if he can't get a visitors visa to visit me (like 2-3 times a year) then I won't take the position.
Thanks for your help in advance! |

As long as he has the proper visa and you can show your authenticated marriage certificate - shouldn't be a problem |

It's no problem to show them the marriage document. I'm only concerned that getting him a visa won't be easy as Yemen isn't on the 'desirable' list of countries that they list.
Thanks for your imput! |

I have a couple of colleagues in your predicament and what they have done is sponsor their spouse. I would suppose that the laws in Qatar would allow you (a female) to do so. Then, once he is sponsored, he has to return at least once every six months to retain his residency (at least that's the time limit in Kuwait), and therefore, he can visit you as many times as he wishes without having to apply for a visa every time.
The only catch is that he would have to stay in Qatar during the entire visa process, which could take a couple of weeks... |
